Blue Bottle Lumine Singapore

If you’ve spent any time cafe or coffee-hopping around Asia, you’ve probably heard of Blue Bottle Coffee. The California-born brand is famous for its clean design, focus on quality beans, and brewing coffee with care.

I first tried Blue Bottle in Hong Kong, and I still remember the calm vibe of their cafes — minimalistic, warm, and very ‘less is more’.

Founded in 2002, Blue Bottle has always been about one simple idea: serve delicious coffee, roasted fresh and brewed to order. That philosophy is something you can feel when you step into their cafés, whether it’s in Hong Kong, Tokyo, or now, Singapore.

The new cafe officially opened at LUMINE Singapore in Raffles City, staying true to its ‘less is more’ vibe. It’s intimate, calm, and thoughtfully designed, the kind of place where you slow down without realising it.

WHAT TO ORDER

The cafe serves a tight but well-curated menu.

If you prefer iced drinks like me, their Cold Brew and New Orleans–Style Iced Coffee (NOLA) are standouts. The NOLA, in particular, is cold-brewed with roasted chicory and lightly sweetened.

If you’re not a coffee person, there are options like Matcha Latte, Hot Chocolate, Lemon Yuzu Fizz, and Kimino Sparkling Juices. Thoughtful, simple, and inclusive which I always appreciate when travelling with friends who don’t drink coffee.

LOCAL TOUCH

One thing that makes this Singapore cafe feel truly special is its partnership with Bakery Brera, a much-loved local bakery known for its craftsmanship and community roots. Alongside classic croissants and pain au chocolat, you’ll find Singapore-exclusive pastries like Pandan Canele with Kaya and Coconut Kouign-Amann.

These little details make a difference. It doesn’t feel like an international brand parachuting in, it feels considered, local, and respectful of the city’s food culture.

Beyond coffee and design, Blue Bottle’s Singapore debut leans heavily into community collaboration. Alongside Bakery Brera, they’ve also worked with The Florté, a homegrown floral studio, to bring seasonal floral arrangements into the cafe. It’s subtle, but it adds warmth and softness to the space, the kind that invites you to linger a little longer.

I’ve always enjoyed exploring local cafes. And although Blue Bottle is on the more ‘commercial’ end of the list, it’s still worth visiting. If you’re into specialty coffee or you simply enjoy well-designed spaces, add this to your Singapore coffee list.
