Cebu Province Now Open to Tourists

In line with Gov. Gwen Garcia’s announcement last October 16 placing Cebu province under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), the Department of Tourism Region 7 along with other stakeholders are jumpstarting the travel industry by opening the province to tourists.

Tourists can now visit Cebu’s best spots!

What makes this even more exciting is the fact that there is no age restriction! Families can now bring their kids with them while they explore the towns and municipalities in Cebu. Director Shalimar Tamano of the Department of Tourism Region 7 shared that most of the families enjoy traveling together. The no age limit announcement will simplify the travel requirements and will definitely address the concerns of the masses.

I remember how discouraging it was to move from one town to another because of the travel requirements. But with this new implementation, people will be encouraged to travel more helping our tourism sector recover.

Aside from the no age limit announcement, the Cebu Provincial Government also included the reopening of Bantayan Island to tourists.

While browsing through my old write-ups I haven’t really shared much about my Bantayan escapades simply because I normally visit the island to relax and unwind. But it is with great pleasure and excitement that I will be sharing more about the Paradise of the North. Tune in for more details as I’ll be writing a separate blog about Bantayan Island reopening to tourists. For now, I will leave an important reminder and that is to TRAVEL RESPONSIBLY.

Tourists are required to follow proper health and safety protocols while traveling. Tourists should wear the standard face mask and face shield. Wearing of air purifiers are highly suggested especially in resorts and accommodation establishments. Tourists might be required to present a confirmed accommodation.

Other tourism activities that have been allowed to re-open are the following:

  • Alegria Canyoneering
  • Anjo World
  • Barili All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)
  • Cordova Island Hopping
  • Danasan Eco-Adventure Park
  • Moalboal Island Hopping and Diving
  • Snow World
  • Whaleshark Watching

Book your activities online through the official tourism portal of Cebu Province:  http://discover.cebu.gov.ph/.

  1. Aw, this was a really nice post. Spending some time and actual effort to make a superb article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and don’t seem to get nearly anything done.
