Best Desserts in Cebu (That I Miss the Most)

How are you coping during this time? It’s a known fact that everybody’s having a hard time right now.

Since the Philippine government implemented the Enhanced Community Quarantine about three weeks ago, a lot of malls, stores, and business establishments have been closed. Many people were told to work at home, some were forced to take leaves, while others were left with no choice but to get temporarily suspended or worse, laid off.

This global health crisis is preventing us from doing our daily routines, eating out, meeting with friends, or going on trips. Many people are not used to staying at home but we all have to do this for our own good. This is the easiest thing we could do to help stop the rise of COVID cases in our country.

Honestly, it gets sad and boring at times. While trying to stay physically healthy, the struggle to stay mentally healthy arises. So what can we do? I’ve shared tips on my previous post on how to cope with our current situation. You can check it here.

I find it challenging to create content now, especially that I focus more on topics related to travel.

I’ve been thinking of topics to share while doing this home quarantine thing then I thought of the pending topic I was supposed to share – Best Desserts in Cebu.

Writing this blog post is equally torturing as staying at home. Hah! It’s already midnight when I started writing this. I am currently sitting on my bed imagining all the food I am going to eat when all of this is over.

And since I cannot and I prefer not to go out to grab a bite or satisfy my sweet cravings, creating this “best” list will have to do for now.

Here are some of the best desserts in Cebu that I miss the most (in no particular order)…

Disclaimer: Food preference is subjective. This list will include “MY” personal picks, not sponsored, whatsoever.

  • Treat Street Cafe’s Avocado Pie

One of my favorite sweet treats, Treat Street’s Avocado Pie is one you must try. You can find their cafe inside Ayala Center Cebu. Just recently, they opened their newest branch in Ayala Central Bloc, IT Park. Aside from their best avocado pie, they also serve great coffee!

  • The Chocolate Chamber’s Cacao Nibs Cookies

I don’t often buy this but TCC’s Cacao Nibs Cookies will always be one of my favorite cookies. Try it to know why! You can also pair it with their Cacao drinks. Aaaaaah! Cacao overload! Also, their Founder’s cake is a must-try. Drop by The Chocolate Chamber in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Address: Robinsons Galleria Cebu, General Maxilom Ave Ext, Cebu City, Cebu

Open Hours: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

  • Leona’s Cakes and Pastries

One of Cebu’s veteran cakes and pastries brand, Leona’s stays on my faves list. Some people might find their dessert selection not instagrammable or whatever but I assure you it tastes better than it looks plus it’s the most affordable dessert place I know. Where can you find a cake slice for less than 50 pesos?

  • Homebaker’s Brazo de Mercedes (or Merceditas)

Like Leona’s, Homebaker’s has been in Cebu for a really long time. It has been my go-to place when I was still in college since it’s near my school. If you’re from Cebu and you haven’t tried their Brazo, I got one question for you – Where were you? (Char)

Address: 181-1 Juana Osmeña St, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu

Open Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM

  • Orange Brutus’ Monster Cake

Orange Brutus is not your typical dessert place as it is a fast-food chain in Cebu. I don’t know if you’ve heard of their monster cake but it’s definitely worth a try.

Address: Ayala Center Cebu, 176 Archbishop Reyes Ave. Cebu Business Park, Cebu City

Open Hours: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

  • Cafe Georg’s Choco Banana Loaf and Choco Chip Cookies

I consider Cafe Georg or Oh Georg one of Cebu’s best restaurants. Aside from good food, they also serve great desserts. Their Choco Banana Loaf and Chocolate Chip Cookie are just a few of my favorites. They also have desserts for those who are on a diet! Check them out when you get the chance!

Here are other desserts I also like: (I’ll update this list soon. For now, I’ll just dream about them! Lol)

  • La Marea’s Yema Brownie Cup and Classic Warm Brownie Cup

  • Chocolate Cakes by Nicole’s Signature Chocolate Cake and The Bomb

  • Lava by Fudge’s Choco Lava Cake

After this ECQ or Enhanced Community Quarantine, what’s the first dessert you’re going to eat? I’d love to know!
