It all started with a game… I thought about doing this before but I never really had the chance to gather my thoughts about what topics to cover. And then I thought, what do I love to do aside from traveling, planning trips, and taking photos? Food-tripping!

Whenever my friends and I travel, food is a non-negotiable experience. What better way to share my love for food than to start sharing what’s best in my turf! To begin this series, I’ll be sharing what I think are the best burgers in Cebu, in no particular order.

Disclaimer: Food preference is subjective. This list will include “MY” personal picks, not sponsored, whatsoever.

#1 The Weekend Burger

Address: 1203 Tres de Abril St, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu

Open Hours: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

They recently opened a new and bigger branch in 1298-B V. Rama, Guadalupe, Cebu City. If you’re adventurous enough, order their Peanut Butter Burger. If not, you can always get their signature “Weekend Burger”.

#2 Mr. Griddle

Address: Banilad Rd, Apas, Cebu City, Cebu

Open Hours: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Aside from flavor, what I love about Mr. Griddle is that their burgers are perfect in size. You can get a single griddle or double griddle. I usually order their Single Griddle burger with bacon and milkshake! Because duh!

#3 Burger Joint

Address: 12 Queen’s Rd, General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City

Open Hours: 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM

Address: Central Bloc, W. Geonzon St Ayala Malls, Cebu City

Open Hours: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Burger Joint has been my go-to burger place in Cebu. Whether you’re craving really late at night, Burger Joint’s got you. They deliver too! Their original branch was at The Gallery, Pope John Paul II Avenue. That arcade will soon close so they opened two new branches, one near Redemptorist Church (General Maxilom) and the other one in Ayala Central Bloc, Cebu IT Park in Lahug. My personal favorites are Cream Cheese Burger, Bacon and Cheese Burger, and Joint Burger (or Junior Joint).

#4 Flame It!

Open Hours: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Takeout Address: Pope John Paul II Ave, Cebu City, 6000

Flame It was established long before the rest on the list. Although it looks more commercial rather than a hole-in-a-wall, Flame It takes a spot on my best list. I usually grab a bite at their takeout branch in Pope John Paul when I schedule for a car wash.

#5 Sals Kusina/Kitchen

Address: 24 P. Almendras St, Cebu City, Cebu

Open Hours: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Closed on Mondays)

It’s a hidden gem at the heart of Cebu. If you love beers and burgers, then this place is perfect for you. Sal’s Cheeseburger Deluxe is TDF!
