When I travel, I usually just go about my normal airport process (check-in – clear immigration – security – board plane – fly). In short, I don’t really have enough time to roam around the airport or to even try its new facilities except for their new and modern bathrooms and their security upgrade.
A week or two ago, I finally had the time to leisurely explore the newest terminal of Mactan Cebu International Airport. It has been over a year since it opened to the public last July 2018.
I wanted to share an airport guide of some sorts but ended up enumerating new facilities/services that you shouldn’t miss at the new passenger terminal building of MCIA. These top 5 airport facilities will truly change your entire airport experience.
#1 Plaza Premium Lounge
The Plaza Premium Lounge is considered the largest independent airport lounge network in the world. Providing premium airport services in over 160 locations of 42 international airports across the world, the Plaza Premium Lounge continues to expand.
In 2018, it opened its first premium lounge in the Philippines, at our very own Mactan Cebu International Airport.

No bias, but ever since Mactan Cebu International Airport Terminal 2 opened, I prefer to have my international flights exit there.
Aside from all these amenities and services, there are still a lot to see inside the new terminal – new shops, services, and facilities. But if I cover all of it, this would become a super lengthy article. So I’d leave it for you to see, discover and experience.
We seriously upped our airport game and other international airports in the Philippines should also consider doing the same!
